Narrow is faster. Gas behaviour in particular is learned by repetition: how a spark module reports a flame it cannot see, how an ageing igniter still lights an oven but no longer opens the valve quickly, what a hood sounds like when the loss is in the duct rather than the motor. A technician who meets those every week names them before the meter is out of the bag.

Gas pressure at the manifold, spark and flame sense burner by burner, sensor and element resistance, blower amp draw at every speed. All of it in front of you.

Parts and labour as a single figure with the $95 deducted. If a repair is not worth doing, that gets said instead of quoted.
